Anti-corruption Expert Advisory Committee meeting for the project “Strengthening Citizen Engagement in Anti-Corruption Efforts (STREAC)” was held on 23 June at Centre for Media Freedom (CMF) office, Kupondole Road, Lalitpur. The meeting was attended by members of the Advisory Committee along with project team from CMF and Development Communication Society-Nepal (SODEC).
The meeting focused on informing Committee members about progress in project activities and on reviewing those activities. Especially, attendees of the meeting reviewed consultation workshop on ‘Promoting good governance, transparency and accountability in financial sectors in line with UNCAC compliance’ held on 19 June. Attendees lauded CMF on the successful completion of the programme.
CMF informed Advisory Committee members about its successful accomplishment of student orientation programme in Surkhet. SODEC-Nepal also informed the members about its regional interaction programme in Surkhet and training for investigative journalists in Nepalgunj held in June.
Advisory Committee member Geeta Pathak Sangroula suggested CMF and consortium partners to organise an essay competition on governance among students because students can spread governance message more effectively than others.
